These sessions explore creativity through play. The aim is to encourage creative interactions to develop between participants and their support worker in a fun and easy way. The sessions are really practical, encourage creativity and are based on the principles of Intensive Interaction – a practical approach to interacting and communicating for those who find communication difficult.
The group uses a person-centered approach to build relationships, develop communication and explore a range of activities and objects that focus on specific senses. These activities include messy play, sensory stories and movement based activities. All activities are adapted to individual participants' needs as the sessions progress. Within the sessions we have the flexibility to work on a 1-to-1 level as well as within the group as a whole.
