‘Ranky Tanky’, also known as ‘There Was an Old Lady From Booster’ originates from a social dance from the African American (Gullah) traditions of South Carolina. There are many different versions of this song. In our version, we use a simple call and response structure that makes it easy to learn. The signs and melody are easily learned and there's lots of repetition, making it a good one to introduce signing with your group.
