Freshen up your wardrobe without breaking the bank!

Looking forward to having a clear-out this Spring but not sure what to do with all those unwanted clothes? Concerned about clothes going to landfill? Want to spruce up your wardrobe but don’t want to break the bank? Well, have we got something for you!

Join us on the 24th March from 10-5pm at St Johns University Student Union where AAM will be setting up a One Stop Clothes Swap Shop as part of the University’s Green Week.

The Green Week will run from Monday 21st March until Friday 25th where theyll be hosting a range of environmentally focussed events.

For our clothes swap, we want to keep things simple and fair. We’ll be operating on a token-based system, depending on quality and brand of the clothes. Meaning you can freshen up your wardrobe without spending a penny! All we ask is that you make sure any donated clothes are cleaned before the event.

We’ll be accepting clothes in advance at the Student Union from Monday 21st March til Wednesday 23rd. Here you can drop off any unwanted clothes in exchange for tokens for you to use on Thursday.

Spot something you want but don’t have any tokens? No problem! We’ll be able to accept card payments and cash on the day that will go straight back into supporting our projects. What’s not to love?!

Unable to drop clothes off in the run up? Just come by on the day and we can evaluate your wears and exchange for tokens there and then.

Want to donate clothes but not fussed about swapping them? We can arrange for drop off/collection to suit you. Get in touch and we can work something out.

Not a student? This event is open for everyone and will be held in a fully accessible venue. The address is York St John Student Union, Lord Mayor’s Walk, York, YO31 7EX

Unfortunately, there won’t be any parking available on site but there is Clarence Street Car Park is just opposite the venue and there are local bus stops nearby.
