Holiday Clubs pack a whole load of fun this summer!

We’ve had a jam-packed summer here at AAM. We had 5 amazing IMPs Holiday Clubs on offer, all full to the brim of creative goodness!

We started the Holiday Clubs as we meant to go on, with a sensory trip to the seaside. This fully booked session had everything, shells, coloured sand, and seaside songs! Some jovial jellyfish hats from the Dragon Boat Race even made a reappearance as fantastic sensory aids. It wouldn’t be the seaside without a beach ball-themed game to round it off either.

Next up, we had a Musical Picnic where we played together, sang songs, and came up with a picnic-inspired soundscape. We used props laid out on a colourful picnic blanket and even made use of the cutlery! Luckily, the dish didn’t run away with the spoon this time! When we were happy with our sounds, we warmed down with a song about our favourite things about picnics.

For our next session, we tried something new. We created our own sock puppet characters out of socks, wool, and pipe cleaners before finishing them off with googly eyes. Once we’d finished crafting, we introduced our new sock-tacular friends through songs, movement, and percussion!

We invited our friends Toolbox Theatre to get involved in our next Holiday Club. They brought along a suitcase full of exciting props to take us on a sensory trip around the world! First, we went fishing and found exciting foodie treats that we had to mime for the group.

Then, we took a trip to the plains of Africa, where, armed with our torches, we sought out exotic animals. We worked together and found elephants, colourful parrots and more! The next stop was Antarctica, where we retraced our footprints in the snow around the space. Before long, it was time to pack up the magical suitcase and say goodbye.

Explorers TTS 7 Social

What better way to end the summer than with a party? A Carnival Creation party that is! This sensory social had everything – colourful scarves, samba beats as well as our own carnival-inspired masks and headpieces. Every design was bold, bright and most importantly, unique!

Whilst we waited for the glue to dry we worked our way about the space to the rhythms and threw our colourful ribbons into the air. We learnt a lot about different drum beats and drums in this session, even how to drum with a balloon!
