Shaking things up at Movers & Shakers!

There have been lots of exciting things happening behind the scenes at AAM, and now we’re ready to spill the beans!

Exciting news for weekly sessions

Since the lockdown lifted, our Movers & Shakers group has seen its numbers steadily grow. Each week, disabled adults come together to explore different themes through music and movement and make new friends.

From line dancing, Blues Brothers impressions to twinkly soundscapes - our participants know how to have a great time!

And the word must have gotten out because our Wednesday afternoon slots at New Earswick Folk Hall always fill up fast. So much so, there’s often a waiting list!

We never want to turn anyone away, which is why we’re thrilled to announce that Accessible Arts & Media have been awarded one of Make it York’s Cultural Wellbeing Grants!

This means that, starting from September, we’ll be offering not one, but two Movers & Shakers sessions on Wednesday afternoons during term time. We’re excited to welcome lots of new faces through our doors.

To find out more about Movers & Shakers and their new sessions, email us at projects@aamedia.org.uk or call us on 01904 626965 – we’d love to chat!

New sessions, new logo!

With all these new sessions and Movers & Shakers now being part of our concerts, it seemed only right that the group had their own identity within the AAM family. So, we asked Leeds-based Saul Studio to come up with a logo they could wear with pride. And here it is!

We asked Saul Studio to design something that’ll make Movers & Shakers stand out, and they did just that! We love it! We’re so happy with the design and can’t wait to see it on participants' t-shirts as they hit the stage once again.
